Featured here is a Regency Tea Caddy with a Pagoda top and wonderfully figured tortoiseshell.

Standing on four Tagua nut feet, the panels of this tortoiseshell tea caddy are separated by fine silver stringing, with a silver escutcheon and vacant initial plate on top.

(Tagua is a seed grown from a Palm Tree and is also known as Vegetable Ivory due to its hardness & colour).

Two compartments with matching tortoiseshell lids and turned-bone handles comprise the interior of this regency tea caddy. There are traces of the original lining in each compartment.
