Description

Presented here is a beautiful Antique Shagreen Tea Chest with Sterling Silver Tea Caddies.

The two Sterling Silver Tea Caddies in this tea chest are exquisitely detailed with scrolling rocco shell decorations surrounding wonderful chinoiserie figures. The pair of silver tea caddies also have the quartered coat of arms for the Bacon family and are fully hallmarked by London silversmith John Wakefield 1818.

The Shagreen Tea Chest has an ornate shaped escutcheon and a canted top with a silvered carry handle. The interior is lined with velvet, and silver, braid to the lid.

This chest is accompanied by a tasselled key which works with a functioning lock.
