Description

It is our pleasure to present a stunning creation of Rene Lalique’s – Model number #1138, a Magnificent Eagle Car Mascot.

Presented in a luxurious clear finish with a mild amethyst tint, this René Lalique “Tete D’Aigle” Mascot is a work of art. Inscribed above the base is the following mark: “R Lalique”

Tete D’Aigle, also known as “Eagle Head”

The Lalique car mascot is made in the shape of an eagle head. These were originally made as car hood ornaments, in the 1920s, by the famous glassmaker René Jules Lalique, who started a company using his name, which still creates fine glassware today.

Original designs were developed as car hood ornaments in the 1920s by famous glassmaker René Jules Lalique, who founded a company in his honour that continues to produce fine glassware today.

This piece has the words “Lalique” and “France” embossed in the glass, near the base. The embossing is a sign of authenticity and a hallmark of the company’s products. This detail is a testament to the craftsmanship of the famed French crystal glassmaker, Lalique.

These wonderful Glass Lalique Car Mascots originally adorned many fabulous Prestigious Motor Cars in the 1930s. They would sit on the most esteemed, high-quality cars like the Bentley and the Rolls Royce. The Mascots were made as car hood ornaments that would light up in the night and glow. These were first introduced in the 1920s, by famous glassmaker René Jules Lalique, who started a company using his own name, which still creates fine glassware today. Their production ceased in 1940, a year after WWII had begun.

We are extremely proud to present this collection of René Lalique’s beautiful mascots which embody the style and glamour of what was undoubtedly motoring’s most exciting era. Today they are works of art in their own right – stunning, decorative accessories as well as a worthwhile investment.
