From our Tea Caddy collection, we are delighted to offer this Georgian Paper Scroll Tea Caddy. The Tea Caddy of elongated hexagonal form framed in a wooden carcass with thirteen individual panels featuring paper scroll work, each depicting floral motifs and bold borders. The Front of the tea caddy features a central panel of a young girl holding a kitten aloft. The exterior of the Paper Scroll Tea Caddy is finished with a tear drop escutcheon and a loop handle to the lid. The interior features a floating lid with a turned brass handle and traces of the original silver foil lining. The Paper Scroll Tea Caddy dates to the late 18th century Georgian period during the reign of George III circa 1780.
The Paper Scroll Tea Caddy comes complete with a working lock and tasselled key.
