Extensive Coromandel Vanity case complete wither silver mounted interior. 

From our box collection, we are delighted to offer this beautiful Coromandel vanity box with a fully fitted interior. The case of rectangular form is veneered in Coromandel with contrasting grain amongst a fine brass inlaid decoration to the lid and front. The sides are mounted with engineered strong brass handles with a recessed housing allowing ease of movement if required. When opened the box reveals an extensive silver, crystal glass and mother of pearl dressing interior delicately positioned for ease of use and for a stunning display. The front drops down to access further storage within a pull-out drawer. We are confident the box is by Austin of Dublin and therefore firmly attribute it to the company retailed by J.Mayer of Liverpool.

A secret compartment is housed below the drawer which is activated by pressing a secret button located on the right-hand hinge disguised as a screw. When pressed it allows access to the jewellery store.

The box comes complete with working lock and key.

The silver is hallmarked T.W for Thomas Whitehouse, a London silversmith dated (L) 1866.
