Antique games compendium by London cabinet makers “Betjemann & Son“. Veneered in rich-figured feathered Walnut, adorned with decorative brass and wonderful black agates.

Lifting the lid reveals the vibrant red leather-lined interior incorporating a Bone and Coromandel chess and backgammon board to the lid, further gaming pieces below include ivory-topped cribbage and bezique scoreboards, a bone Staunton pattern chess set and chequers stained red and left natural, dice, score pegs and two ivory “finger” pointers. On the back edge of the open box is a brass button, When pressed it releases the sprung drawer at the front of the box.
The drawers contain a set of bone backgammon counters stained red and left natural, two wooden dice shakers and four decks of cards topped with bezique scorecards.

The underside of the main lid houses a reversible leather chess / backgammon board.
