Antique Jewellery Boxwith brass edging, ornate initial plate and escutcheon.

The interior is lined with blue leather paper and velvet, with a removable tray which features two compartments for rings, earrings and cuff links. Removing this tray reveals further storage space underneath for those precious items. Housed in the lid is a ruched velvet backed mirror which can be removed allowing access to a leather letter compartment.

To access the secret letter compartment:

The lock keep on the lid at the top edge of the box has three screws, place your thumb underneath the middle screw under the front edge of the box, you will feel a indentation squeeze this and the ruched leather pad will spring forward, this can be removed to allow access to the letter compartment and the mirror can be turned facing if preferred.

On the back edge of the open box is a brass button, when pressed the flush hidden drawer at the front of the box will open to reveal further padded storage.

This jewellery box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
