Antique tulipwood glove box, with brass edging around the top and brass key profile.
Lifting the lid reveals a rosewood lined interior with padded red velvet lid and base. The front of the box can fold forwards too for making easier access to its contents.

This box has a beautiful herringbone veneer on the main body and a quarter matched veneer on the top. However this has been done in a way which causes each section of tulipwood to reflect the light differently! This gives the box a distinct striped and chequered look and certain angles, which is very difficult to capture with a camera.
