Description

Rosewood Writing Box made with solid mahogany, brass bound on the top sides and front, with flush fitting carrying handles which fit neatly into both sides of the writing box . There are two brass escutcheons, on the top and front of the Writing Box and a diamond shape brass stringing pattern on the top.

The interior has a blue, gold tooled leather writing surface, two inkwells, a section for holding pens and pencils. The writing surface folds back to reveal two storage areas and on the back of one of them is crossed ribbon for holding letters and cards. The box also has a secret compartment underneath the top half of the writing surface. Once the surface is folded back, on the right hand side of the main compartment there is two small lines in the wood indicating where to press. This will release the secret panel and reveal three small drawers.

This writing box comes with a fully working lock & tasselled key.
