Antique Military style Mahogany Apothecary box with brass corner brackets for added strength, and flush fitting campaign style brass handles with ornate escutcheon.

The interior contains 12 glass bottles of varying sizes with glass stoppers, and a glass plate. All of which have their origianl labels from the Claud Manfull “Botanic Pharmacy” Thurgarton Street, & Trent Road, Sneinton, Nottingham. The labels on the Jars are: Castor Oil, Peroxide of Hydrogen, Large Crystal Epsom Salts, Syrup of Rhubarb,Tartaric Acid, Sweet Nitre, Tinture of Myrrh, Milk of Sulphur, Permancanate of Potash, Dill Seed Water, Essence of Peppermint, Lime Water. Three small jars in the base Calomel,Emetic Tartar, Ipecacuanha Powder. Two small pots are labeled Purging Pills & Blue Pills.

The back drawer has its original book of which is titled A List Of Medicines, Contained in a Chest with some GENERAL DIRECTIONS FOR THEIR USE. London. Printed by R.Gilbert St. John Square 1827.

The front edge of the box has a brass pin which keeps the drawer at the front of the box secure. Once the pin is removed the drawer can be opened which reveals a set of brass weigh scales with weights and a palette knife housed in a removable tray. Underneath is a glass mortar and pestle, 3 small bottles and two glasses.
