Indian casket with exquisite attention to detail of pierced bone.

On the top of the box are two exquisitely painted portraits of Mumtaz Mahal (meaning chosen one of the palace) empress and chief consort of emperor Shahabuddin Muhammad Shah Jahan, the fifth Mughal emperor of India from 1628 to 1658. Considered one of the greatest Muhgals of the Timur family.

Opening the casket reveals a green padded base and two paintings on the underside depicting a leopard and a gazelle.
