Antique Ebony sewing box with exquisite Mother of Pearl inlay on the top and front, which incorporates a vacant initial plate and escutcheon. The sewing box stands on four turned Ebony bun feet.

Lifting the lid of this impressive sewing box you’ll see how wonderful and barely used interior and is full of its original contents. Lined with blue paper and delicate silk it features a removable tray that is fully fitted with sewing tools, including mother of pearl thread reels, mother of pearl thread winders, tape measure, thimbles, perfume bottle, needle books and a tool pad. Lifting this tray out reveals more storage space underneath.

The underside of the main lid has a secured letter/pattern compartment with a small ribbon pull.

This wonderful antique sewing box comes with a fully working lock and a tasselled key. The key must be turned clockwise to unlock.
