Victorian Jewellery box veneered in stunning figured Walnut with ebonised edging, brass hinges and shield-shaped escutcheons. Opening the magnificent jewellery box reveals a green velvet and silk paper-lined interior with a removable tray with brass loop handles and eight compartments for storing jewellery, including two specially lined for rings earrings or cufflinks. Using the brass loops make lifting the tray out easy and reveals a large padded storage space underneath.

The front of the box features a lockable drawer that is also spring-loaded. Once unlocked it can be opened by pressing the brass button on the back edge of the open box. This drawer is perfect for keeping those extra precious items safe and secure.

The underside of the lid has a secret removable velvet backed mirror, behind which is a leather letter compartment for all those precious love letters. This compartment also has the Cabinet makers label: “Halstaff & Hannaford Manufacturers. 228 Regent St.”

Both locks are fully working and come complete with tasselled keys.
